This vintage Rolex Explorer Reference 1016 is quite a rare and beautiful example. The dial is matte black, has a GORGEOUS and even patina, and is in perfect condition. Any scratches or spotting that is shown in the photos is on the crystal, NOT the dial. The hands are shiny and do not show any pitting or rusting. The case and bracelet appear unpolished, and have not been worn down over the years. The Rolex crown on the buckle is still nice and sharp, as well as the lugs. The 9315 bracelet is will fit up to an 8.5 inch wrist, and is still quite tight as shown in the photos.
The watch is running approximately 20-25 seconds slow per day, and is due for a servicing. There are no markings on the back lid, so we are assuming it has never been serviced. We have chosen to leave it this way, as some vintage Rolex collectors prefer to have their own designated watchmakers service their watches. However, we do have an expert certified watchmaker on staff, and are happy to provide service on this watch upon request.
